It lets you finish three different jobs in one pass, decreasing your fuel costs. With the 2700, you can easily manage residue levels, the amount of soil fracturing, and the soil profile.

Increase down pressure on mulching disk frames
Active hydraulic down-pressure system
The active hydraulic down-pressure system allows the operator to increase the down pressure on mulching disk frames up to 8274 kPa (1200 psi). Adjustments are made with a knob located next to the dial.
This system acts as a cushion for the frames, protecting against rocks or other field obstructions. Active hydraulic down pressure is a proven design that is currently used on the 750 and 1560 No-Till Drills.
The system is compatible with both closed-center and pressure-compensated hydraulic systems, such as older-model John Deere tractors and John Deere 8020, 8030, and 9020 Series Tractors.

The disk frames are set in an X-type configuration. The disks are hydraulically adjustable from a maximum depth of 102 mm (4 in.) to completely out of the ground.
The front disk frame is set at an 18-degree angle and the rear disk frame at a 16-degree angle to provide aggressive disking action.
The active, auricle down-pressure system allows the operator to control the amount of pressure put on the frames up to 8274 kPa (1200 psi).
The disks provide the following benefits:
- Size residue to flow through spring tillage tools
- Kill weeds
- Work the soil
- Level the soil profile
- Mix surface residue
Disk blades are mounted to the gangs using either a rigid standard or a C-spring standard for rocky conditions.
Maintenance-free bearing

The blades are mounted to the standard using a single-bolt design and maintenance-free bearings.
The bearing design features a double-row tapered roller bearing that utilizes automotive wheel bearing sealed-for-life technology. A high-strength, heat-treated, forged alloy steel spindle is precision-machined to optimize performance.
Repetitive sealing utilizing an integrated system of components protects the primary bearing seal.
The blade side features a wrapped spindle to deflect dirt away and prevent crop wrappage. A plastic seal eliminates soil packing while a heavy-duty, maintenance-free, triple-lip seal and intermediate grease barrier protect the factory-sealed, double-row tapered roller bearing assembly.
The 559-mm x 7-mm (22-in. x 0.256-in.) solid spherical low-concavity disk blades are spaced at 438 mm (17.25 in.). Spacing sizes the residue to ensure the residue flows well through spring tillage tools.
NOTE: The residue is not sized so small that it deteriorates quickly, blows away easily, or is buried readily, and yet it is sized small enough to flow through a field cultivator.

Walk-Over tandem wheels provide added support and stability for smoother operation in the field.
The Walk-Over tandem main wheels with 57-mm (2.25-in.) plug-in spindles and six-bolt hubs are in base equipment for the 3.81-m and 4.27-m (12-ft, 6-in. and 14-ft) models and come equipped with 11L-15 FI D LR tires.
Base equipment for the 5.33-m and 5.49-m (17-ft, 6-in. and 18-ft) models are Walk-Over tandem main wheels with 57-mm (2.25-in.) plug-in spindles and eight-bolt hubs with 12.5L-15 F1 D LR tires.
Walk-Over tandem main wheels with 57-mm (2.25-in.) plug-in spindles and eight-bolt hubs equipped with the 12.5L-15 FI D LR tires are optional equipment for the 3.81-m and 4.27-m (12-ft, 6-in. and 14-ft) models. An F-rating in this tire size is also optional for the 5.33-m and 5.49-m (17-ft, 6-in. and 18-ft) sizes.
Wheels located in front of ripper shanks

The wheels are located behind the mulching disks and in front of the ripper shanks. This allows the wheels to run on ground that has been leveled by the front disks and not disturbed by ripper standards for more stable operation.

The rear conditioner provides the following benefits:

- Can vary the surface profile on the go to leave rough for maximum drying and control of water runoff or leave the profile smooth for minimum seedbed preparation in the spring
The rear conditioner is made up of individually-mounted disk blades using C-shanks and TruPosition™ standards.
The blades are attached to the shanks using a single-arbor-bolt design and maintenance-free bearings. The TruPosition standard provides a vertical trip force of 114 kg (250 lb). The solid-spherical disk blades are 457 mm x 4 mm (18 in. x 0.157 in.).

The 7S30 and 9S24 models are available in a narrow transport option to reduce transport width:
- 7S30 reduces transport width from 5.79 m to 4.95 m (19 ft to 16 ft, 3 in.)
- 9S24 reduces transport width from 5.79 m to 5.13 m (19 ft to 16 ft, 10 in.)

- 5S30 - five standards with 762-mm (30-in.) spacing
- 7S24 - seven standards with 610-mm (24-in.) spacing

The 2700 Combination Ripper features a rigid single-tube hitch to provide a greater turning clearance and shorter turning radius.
The single 152-mm x 254-mm (6-in. x 10-in.) hitch tube allows making tighter turns on the headlands without the inside tractor dual interfering with the hitch tube.
